Sara Pennington, Children's Pastor

Sara Pennington (Newman at the time) first came to Dutch Valley with her family in the fall of 2001 while she was still in high school. She left the following year to attend Lee University where she received her B.A. in Children’s Ministry in December 2005. She and her husband Sean Pennington (who she met at Lee and married in July 2004) did ministry there in Cleveland, TN, then in Georgia and North Carolina before coming back here to Dutch Valley in April 2008. In October 2008, she took the position of Children’s Pastor and received her Exhorter’s License in the Church of God a month later. Since she has served at Dutch Valley, God has used her in a mighty way! Many children have received Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and the kids moved into their own Kids’ Church upstairs in the FLC with their very first permanent set and stage in July 2009.  Pastor Sara wants every child to know how special they are to Jesus and how God has a very important plan for every boy and girl. No matter how old a child is, they can do big things for Jesus!

Meet Snickers

When you come to kids’ church, you can expect to have a lot of fun! You can also expect to have an experience with Jesus! In every Kids’ Church Service, there is praise and worship, prayer/altar time, games, an object lesson or story, and a real and applicable sermon from God’s Word. We know that becoming a Christian isn’t all there is to a life with Jesus! He wants us to keep growing closer to Him because he has awesome plans for us! That’s why we come together each Sunday for Kids’ Church—to discover more about life with Jesus! Come out to the DOCK and be a discoverer of Christ’s Kingdom with us! We look forward to seeing and worshipping with you!

Kids’ Church at the DOCK just wouldn’t be the same without our very special friend “Snickers the Snake” who lives in the old shack! Snickers comes out just about every Sunday to say hello to the kids and discover Christ’s Kingdom along with us.   Snickers loves Snickers candy bars and Mountain Dew (because he’s the color of Mountain Dew.)
